The Pennsylvania Center for Dental Excellence in Philadelphia is the place to go for your emergency dental needs. Oral health has a major impact on overall health. Preventative dental procedures are a must for every person. The sooner you find out there might be something wrong with your teeth, the sooner you can treat it and heal it. According to the American Dental Association, people should see their dentist two times a year for cleanings and exams.
Professional cleanings remove harmful plaque and tartar buildup from your mouth. It can help prevent tooth decay, periodontal disease, and many other dental diseases. Surface stains are also removed from your teeth, which will significantly improve the appearance of your teeth.
Dr. Tau will also go over your general oral health and teach you about adequately taking care of your teeth. Your bite and jaw will also be examined to make sure there are no problems. You will also learn if you are at risk for conditions such as tooth decay or gum disease. Any dental work you have done in the past will be examined. Dr. Tau may also take dental x-rays if he decides it is necessary.
Let us help you with cosmetic dentistry if your smile needs improvement. Our cosmetic dental procedures will improve your self-esteem, oral health, appearance, and function. Many dental problems can be fixed by bonding your teeth. Teeth bonding can fix chipped or cracked teeth, teeth discoloration, gaps between your teeth, extend or reshape your teeth and protect an exposed tooth root. Dental bonding can be done in one visit.
The Pennsylvania Center for Dental Excellence is also the expert on restorative dental services. We will try our best to preserve your natural teeth. Otherwise, we offer functional yet attractive tooth replacement items. You may need one or more of the following procedures; composite fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, dental implants or implant supported dentures. Our restorative dental services may be appropriate if you are struggling with tooth decay, cracked or broken teeth, pain, and missing teeth or worn out teeth.
One groundbreaking service we offer is the CEREC same day restoration. Dr. Tau is one of the few dentists in the country that has CAD/CAM technology to create CEREC crowns. A 3-D digital impression of your mouth will be taken to measure where the crown will be placed. Then a milling unit will be used to create your CEREC crown. The crown will be glazed and painted to match your real teeth. Next, your crown will be bonded, which will only take a few minutes. All together it will only take 2 hours to create and insert your CEREC crown. Your CEREC crown will look and feel like real teeth. A CEREC crown usually lasts between 10 to 15 years. But if you take proper care of your crown, it can last longer. Your mouth will not feel very sensitive after the procedure.
